Training and development needs are identified through on-going management and supervision. In addition to this all staff have an annual Performance Development Review (Appraisal) at which time they can more formally discuss training needs and development aspirations. The Company has a policy of promoting from within whenever possible.
Training and development is regarded as a shared responsibility between the Company and the individual. Both parties have a duty to recognise training and development needs, with both sharing the responsibility for the fulfilment of those needs. Premiserv Limited provides formal management and supervisory training as well as technical cleaning skills training.
Experienced managers and staff with specialist skills and knowledge carry out training and development in house and on site locations. All staff are trained in the use of equipment, materials and cleaning techniques as well as safe working practices.
The amount, quality and effectiveness of the company’s training and development is consistently monitored and evaluated.
To underpin these people development objectives the Company is actively working towards achieving Investors in People accreditation.

Training and development activity is managed at Company level where bespoke training is needed to meet specific operational needs and customer requirements.
This is not a definitive listing as training and development is continually reviewed to meet the evolving requirements of the business and its customers.
Continued Staff Training
Premiserv Limited are able to meet the disciplines within the Investors In People Standard and the ISO 9002 management procedures, all staff training is recorded on the Staff Training Matrix. These computerised records are maintained at the site and provide evidence of training received and levels of competency for each grade of staff.

Customer Care Training
All Premiserv staff have a responsibility for assisting members of staff who visit site. To recognise the importance of their role within this, we have developed a bespoke customer care training package, which all staff receive as part of their Induction Training.
In addition to this, they are regularly reminded of their responsibilities during team briefing sessions delivered by Line Managers.
It is important that all employees receive Induction Training within the first two days of commencement to encourage loyalty, teamwork and good communication – all aimed at the achievement of high cleaning standards.
These are our ‘front line’ staff within our operations and the focus of their training is very much practical skills based along with customer care. All cleaning operatives are trained to the British Institute of Cleaning Science Standards.
